Facilitated by SJ Eeles – regional arts producer, community connector, and Act Local coordinator will explore how volunteer experiences across community groups, arts, sport, events, advocacy, and local initiatives can translate into real-world career currency.

This practical and engaging session will help participants:
• Identify transferable skills hidden in everyday volunteer roles
• Recognise experience that employers and industries value
• Explore pathways to employment, confidence-building, and community connection
• Learn how volunteering can strengthen resumes, applications, and professional networks

Delivered by Town Team Movement through the Act Local Program, this interactive workshop will help you better understand what funders are looking for, how to develop strong project ideas, and how to write competitive grant applications.

An Introduction to Canva

 Learn how almost(!) anyone can use Canva to help promote community initiatives.

As part of the Act Local capacity building online program, you’re invited to an engaging Introduction to Canva, proudly presented by Town Team Movement and facilitated by our Operations Lead, Rory Murray.

Canva has become the go-to online tool that people of all abilities can utilise to produce high quality designs to promote their organisations, projects and events.

This interactive 90 minute session presented the high level features of Canva, demonstrating some of the many features you may have missed, and showed how you might go about producing content to promote your community organisation.

In the second half of the webinar, attendees were able to try some of these features themselves, sharing questions, challenges and answers with each other in a collaborative manner.
